I'm an independent jewellery designer-maker based in Birmingham's historic Jewellery Quarter and an Artist in Residence at the School of Jewellery, Birmingham. I share my little workshop with another maker which is lovely for the chats and teas and coffees to keep us going and warm when it gets a little chilly. On the odd occasion, my teenage daughter likes to spend time at the bench and of course the pigeons like to pop their heads around the open window in the summer months.
I graduated from Birmingham's prestigious School of Jewellery (BCU) with Distinction in Jewellery and Silversmithing (HND) in 2016.
I make unique silver jewellery
ranging from small charm necklaces and earrings, to larger detailed pendants,
brooches and rings; some with moving elements. Inspired by nature, the wonders of the world around me, holidays abroad
and carefree, happy childhood memories, my work is designed with a smile in mind. I use a variety of techniques such as hand carved and modelled milliput that are cast in silver; embellishing silver with pure gold using the ancient Korean technique of Keum Boo, and setting and using a variety of semi-precious stones. I like to try and make each piece slightly different to the last, any repeats I make are limited to a max of 10 and I enjoy making one offs and working to commission.
